Meet WOMEN’S WAY’s 2022 Change The Narrative Fellows: Val-sharee Quiller-Williams
Val-sharee Quiller-Williams is the Founder and Director of Dance Language & the -ARTS in Philadelphia, where she mentors young people through dance, fine arts, and music. Val-sharee believes that when young people have opportunities to be leaders, they are more open to learning. Her favorite form of teaching and mentoring is through the hands-on learning approach. Giving young people a voice while trying to find their unique voice is important to Val-sharee.
In addition to directing DLA, Val-sharee has had the opportunity to work with children in preschool, where she worked in both Philadelphia and Saint Louis, MO, for about seven years and then spent over three years working with Elementary schoolers through 9th grade. She has over ten years of experience working with young people in youth ministries and summer enrichment programs.
While Val-sharee is clear about her passion, outside of spending time with youths, Val-sharee enjoys singing, dancing, acting (for fun), and more than anything, laughing a lot. She desires to cultivate an atmosphere of FREEDOM and JOY wherever she visits. Her life motto is” laughing is good for the bones”!
